ago. Wow you are old! I was just checking out the picture of you and
your sister I took in my apartment before I knew who you were (By the
way what were you doing in a strange man's apartment?). Anyways back to
the point, I was looking at the picture and I realized as much as I like
to give you a hard time...Time has been very kind to you... the only
problem is that there has been so gosh darn much of it. Anyways
Congratulations to have made it to this milestone, which I can attest is
not as bad as it is cracked up to be. In my experience body parts don't

share with such a good friend on this momentous occasion? Remember the
day will come and go and you will expect to feel different but you
don't! You're amazed that you're now "in your 40's" but you
think "wait a minute, I still fell like I'm 25!" Remember that
getting gracefully older doesn't mean everything falls apart. After all,
I still beat you quite handily in golf each week and you know I'm older
than sin! (And what does that say about your golf game and those new
clubs you bought last year?) Remember that being a good friend brings
you good friends, as all these messages attest to. I'm sure my life
would be quite different if we weren't at Chesapeake and Overnite

pictures with your children. On of my fondest memories occurred one
evening while sharing a meal at your home. I remember remarking that you
manage the child "chaos" exceptionally well especially
considering that you work full time. You shared your secret with me and
I tucked it away. Your advice: Just have a beer when you get home; it
makes it easier. We don't have children but find it's still great

Tech will never be the same! Corn fields and torn off front bumpers were
never too much! Ha Ha. Virginia Beach was left with hang overs and maybe
a concussion(guess who might have had the concussion--CINDY!) Fort
Lauderdale was great! The trip was long, the flooded room was a mess,
the sun poisioning was painful but the memories will last a lifetime.
Thanks for the hospitality at your parents' house. They probably thought
we were all crazy!!! Thanks for road trips and your sister(who helped us
more than once out of a computer nightmare!!!) But most of all thanks
for the wonderful friendship. Our lives are richer for it! Enjoy this

crossed over that 40 year mark on the giant time-line. We're sort of all
gathered on the other side now just waiting for Monday to come. Stop
taking baby steps....come on, you can do it....get ready to jump agross
and join the fun people! Let's see, was it about '86-'87 that you and
Hopping made your entrance at CSK? Shortly there after the googlie eyes
for one another started, and developing daily strategies on how to hide
the office romance became more important than system support and
developement. Sure glad you decided to come work for Chesapeake as two
better friends Kari and I have in you and Brian, we probably couldn't
imagine. Stays in Virginia at the Hotel Hopping, and all the vacation
weeks at the OBX have created quite a trail of memories - those in
addition to all the fun we had in the late 80's when we really still
lived in Richmond - not just pretending to on weekend visits as we seem
to now. This week I heard Cameron telling someone that he had just come
back from a really fun beach fishing trip with his uncle and cousins! -
so welcome to our extended family "Aunt" Cindy and Happy 40th
my fellow Hokie!

Cindy, go Cindy! And you must remember that you ARE still older than me
(only by 3 days - but that still counts)! I could write a book! Who
would've guessed that 23 years ago when we met as Freshman roommates at
Virginia Tech, that we'd still be the closest of friends. Words cannot
express what your friendship means to me. We can go months without
talking and pick up right where we left off. You have truly been a gift
in my life. And wow - haven't we had some great times together (and yes
I'm going to post this for all your other friends to see)! I think one
of the most classic memories is the bumper story. I laugh so hard every
time I think of it. Remember? A college night out, a crazy drive in the
snow, and the next morning realizing that your rear bumper was gone -
only to be found stuck on the fence in the cow pasture!! Everytime I

became friends when I moved into the doomed neighborhood and forced
myself into her home. life, and heart. With 6 kids between us, then
6,5,4,3,2,&1 we had a blast...and believe it or not people usually
left when they saw us coming. Cindy also ruined my 30th birthday
drinking bash ( or so it was supposed to be) by going into early labor
with Katie!She long made up for it though by cooking many dinners, and
painting most of my house before I sold it! I miss you terribly Cindy,

been a blessing to me and my children, and your friendship and support
