It was Sunny the Joyful day you were born what more could I ask for
It was a very Special Day I will never forget a day to always cherish
After what seems like the longest wait ever you were an overdue baby
After a lot of anxiety, prayers and anticipation you were already a part of me
After a long bumpy road to the hospital you had already shown your strong will
It happened at night at about 10:45 in the evening
It happened at Pietersburg Hospital which is now in the Eastern Region
It happened and there was no turning back my blessing was here!
You weighed in at 1.98 kg
You gave the sweetest cry ever to my ears
You were healthy and perfect
You were so small you had to be taken into an incubator
You started a trail of memories I will always cherish
I started counting hours before your first feed my maternal instincts kicked in
I started wondering what the future will hold for you I wanted nothing but the best for you
The Joy and Love I felt, is the Joy and Love I have never felt before
It hit me: I am a mother, no longer just a woman
It hit me: God has Blessed me with you, there must be a reason
It hit me: I have a responsibility to nurture you and I wondered if I was ready
It was a day filled with emotion
It was a day filled with wonder
It was a day full of promises
It was a day full of prayer
It was a day God blessed me with a daughter
As we take our road each day
As we reach each mile stone
