Comments: Happy Birthday, Argy. Since you're a thirty-something I
don't understand this 50th business. A mere slip of a girl such as
yourself can't even count to fifty let alone be fifty. And someone with
your energy and enthusiasm scares those of us for whom fifty is a
distant memory (if we still have memories). Speaking of which, thanks
for all those you've left with me. I look fondly on those days when DRG
began its first steps towards middle school and the long list of
projects that made the daily trek to school a joy and not a chore. When
I watch you work I am happy for you that the joy is such a big part of
your life.

things to go is your memory! I meant to do this weeks ago and here I am
just doing so . . . at least it isn't terribly belated. Being 50 isn't
so bad . . . right, who am I trying to kid?? But I'm sure you'll do this
as beautifully as you have the last 49. You have always given so much of
yourself . . . hope you're being treated like a queen today. We are all
so lucky to have you in our lives. Congratulations and here's wishing

Comments: Well, well, well. If my little sister is fifty, then
how old am I? There have been many moments that I have been afraid for
you. Billy and I never seemed to bring around to the house the kind of
man we could approve for you. You didn't seem to mind. Luckily, you paid
them little attention and you went out and grabbed yourself the
"mountain man." What a GREAT choice you made. When it was time
for you to LEAVE your house and family, another great choice and you
moved to Maine. A perfect place for you to grow, mature, be yourself and
blossom. You made a great teacher of yourself. You achieved Teacher of
the year ... went to space camp .... had your picture taken with the
president. You topped that with your cross-country road trip, visiting
other teachers of the year and their classes. You not only shared this
with Donald and the boys, but you maintained contact with all of us who
couldn't go with you. The Orient - another great adventure and again you
shared it daily with all of us. "You have done well Pilgrim."
Not only on the road have you faired well. You have set the example as a
person, a friend, a wife and a mother to all that meet and get to know
you. As a brother, I have not always been the best for you. Our
relationship may not be the closest. You have kindly let me know when I
disappointed you, but you never forgot or shunned me. Honestly, I have
been very proud of you many times over. More times then I ever told you.
I never hesitate to tell people I meet of the greatest littlest sister
that I, or anyone, could have. Congratulations on this your day. May it
be full of great thoughts, greater memories, greatest feelings and may
all the joys you've given to others be yours. May it truly be the FIRST
day of the rest of your life. May their be an abundance of first days.
"WATCH YOUR TOP-KNOT PILGRIM" (another line from Jeremiah
Johnson). All of my love, today and for ever. Happy Birthday ...... pete

thinking. I know we can disagree and still love each other. I know other
people get worried when we get one of our ideas. I know I have grown as

that marks the 50th anniversary of your birth. While growing up, you
were always the baby of the family that we loved, cherished and
protected. You have been a source of great pride for me over the years
that has been manifested through wonderful experiences, terrific
relationships, development of a fabulous family, as well as professional
and personal accomplishments. Through all of the ups and downs you have
matured while, at the same time, maintaining an envious and admirable
attitude of youthful innocence. My wishes for you are echoed in the
words of a favorite poet of my time- "May God bless and keep you
always. May your all dreams come true. May you always do for others and
let others do for you. May you build a ladder to the sky and climb on
every rung. May you stay forever young." All My Love, Your Brother
