late doing this, our message will be the first Andy reads !!!! help, it
had better be good. Andy .... the reason for taking so long to do this
is not because we have forgotten or are not interested, its because its
very hard to say anything rude or controversial. A big man, a man's man,
a lady's man.... a doting father. Pleasure to know you, have a great
birthday.. looking forward to seeing you on the big day Claire and

Comments: Crickey - you don't look a day over 50! Remember that a
fast game's a good game. Now you've reached the venerable 40's perhaps
your body may get a little respite - will you become older and wiser?
Keep the cunning plans coming - some crackers so far: Triathlon in
Utrect, Kilimanjaro,90 holes of Open Championship golf in 4 days ( makes
the Curry Cup look lightweight), Lions trips , cricket in the West Indes,
Golf and Spa weekend at Turnberry - long may they continue.Helen's
voting for more of the latter! Have a blast on Saturday and a sorethroat
on Sunday!

OF THE ACOLADES FROM YOUR LONG TERM FRIENDS), THAT I HAD SHARED MORE
TIMES WITH THE,HUMOROUS,TALENTED,CARING 'BIG MAN',. I CERTAINLY HOPE
THAT MANY MORE CURRY CUPS WILL PROVIDE ME WITH THOSE OPPORTUNITIES. 3
DAYS IN SCARBOROUGH AND 3 DAYS IN SPAIN IS MY ONLY HISTORY WITH YOU.
YOUR WARMTH AND PERSONALITY SHINE THROUGH EVEN IN THOSE ALCOHOL DRENCHED
CURRY CUP WEEKENDS, YOUR UN-QUENCHABLE THIRST AND HEARTY LAUGHTER ARE
INDELIABLY INGRAINED ON MY SEMI PICKLED CURRY CUP MEMORY BANK!! HERE'S

Comments: Big man. Thank god for The Rugby World cup!!! From
every corner you’ve made me smile, laugh until my sides ache, sing
until I can't speak, phone bills BT would have gone bankrupt without!
Fall to sleep in places no one ever believed possible, have hangovers
lasting for days & travel to the other side of the world to do most
of it! Says it all x Memory joggers. Sorry! Court hearings, The Sun Inn
for female company at a Rugby Match! Puff & the loo seat. Jonty's
clothes down the A4! Drunken sing alongs in Minskeys. "Mosman
Cafe/Piano bar" & letter of complaint from the tenants in 24
hrs. The Oaks. The Dry Cleaners. Drunken calls in the middle of the
night from "the boys" Sydney, Melbourne, South Africa, KM
& more. The "rollickings" I have given you over girls,
skiing trips & balconies! The best has to be, for being a good
sport, & the greatest wind up ever. The Kentucky Fried Chicken
Video!(If you don't know about it, ask Andy!) Still makes me smile now.
Not only have we laughed together but we have shared some very sad &
moving times too. That’s what makes you so special. Your sensitivity
& understanding as well as your love of life. Your Dad was so proud
of you & your achievements but most of all your love & support.
If only he could share this time with you now. x Meeting Becky is the
best thing thats happened to you, making you the man you are today. Her
caveman poet, sole mate & loving father. Remember when you told me
that "you'd met the girl you were going to marry & you needed a
recipe to "wow" her not like the usual fish dish!" Glad
it worked. X Ben & Josh. You both got there through tears love &
support. They will continue to make you smile & scream & you
will never cease to wonder how you could love them any more, but you
will. Andy, don't ever stop being what you are good at. Being you.
Thanks for sharing so much of your 40 years with me & we look
forward to walks, swings, slides & picnics. Of course with the odd
bottle or two! Happy 40th old man. Love you always. Kido xxx

look foward to many happy times with Becky, yourslef and the boys in
years to come. I especially look forward to teaching Ben how to drink

Faberge, Lever Rexona, Bigs vs Smalls, Type A behaviour, Sharing
beers/friends, tequilla (well maybe not), a friendly ear/hug, my victory
when you hurled in the Barcelona pub, and way too many laughs to ever

Comments: Andy, Mars, Big Man - where did you get that hair!!
I've always seen you more as a Wade Dooley type of character ( as have
some others) rather than some prima donna type of back. As for your
singing prowess I'm sure Simon Cowell would have some 'nice' things to
say about it. It's certainly been entertaining knowing you, with those
keenly contested drinking sessions, golf, rugby and the odd triathlon
thrown in for good measure. We hope you have great 40th ( wow!!)
birthday celebrations and we'll hopefully be there to celebrate it with
you. Happy Birthday Turlough & Pam

another new beginning for you that's for sure. Will the forties change
the Routley machine? - hmmmm, I very much doubt it! I am sure the next
forty years will be as much fun, organised chaos (?), and adventure as
the first - I just hope Becky, Ben and Josh can keep pace with their
Dad! Some reputation to live up to! Hope that you have a great day mate.

Comments: Andy Wishing you a great birthday and congrats on
surviving 40 years! Its hard to believe that its seven years since you
left Aus. While we've had some fun and games since then, I still recall
many highlights of your times here - the trips to watch the cricket and
rugby in South Africa, in Hong Kong and in NZ; the weekend of golf and
partying in Melbourne before dropping you at the airport to go to London
for three days and then picking you up at Sydney airport to go to watch
the Swans win the AFL semifinal; the power hour at the SCG; the drinking
of the top shelf at Minskys; the wild parties and serious chess games at
"the Dance Cafe" and the numerous times I returned home to
find an empty fridge but with numerous new friends sitting on the
balcony. You've crammed a lot into the first 40 years and its wonderful
to now see you with such great wife and family. Look forward to enjoying
the excitement of the next 40 years with you all. Never lose your
enthusiasm for life. Curtis, Shirley, jack and Matthew

moments all over the world. It has been a pleasure to share them all

Comments: Andrew-- Enormous congratulations, big man! It's a
remarkable achievement: to take a moment on the south side of your
biblical three score and ten(did I miss an opportunity to be nice
here?)and taste the sweetness of a life well lived. On to five score and
ten! Or more? You are a rare character. A "man in full", as we
say, full of laughter and adventure, always ready for a pint, but
grounded too. You are one of the few people I know with whom I can as
seriously discuss the meaning of life as readily as bad pick-up lines.
And you know a lot of bad pick up lines. I am quite impressed with the
website pictures, especially the dancing one. And the singing? All of
these hidden talents beneath the butch exterior. No wonder Russell
Watson sweats so much these days. Now that the corporate world has
nothing to fear from you, will the West End? I note well that most of
the other commentaries mention your adventures, and I am impressed with
their discretion. Far be it from me to reveal the less savory stories:
the trans-species get-ups, that ugly peccadillo in the holding tank(but
how about that rummy with the cigar? Who knew it could be smoked that
way?) Too bad, too, about the photos, eh? So much for plausible
deniability....most people wouldn't understand, would they? All of this
stuff about the flower of British manhood....but, really, let's be
honest: a gentleman should be indulged a feather boa on a cool evening,
don't you think? Have a long and boozy birthday with Becky and the boys.
I am so pleased that you have found such completeness and happiness.
Such is real wealth. Stay well, be happy-- Frank

Comments: Can't believe I am married to a 40 year old... I was 16
when my dad was 40 - scary eh?! But like I have told you before, you
have got far more attractive with age...certainly the less hair you
have, the better you look! Well, what can I say..you are my GBH, my
"caveman poet", my soulmate and friend, and competitive
playmate! And at 40 you are still managing to somehow live the same life
you always have with golf weekends, trips to Lords, triathlons, rugby,
plus giving so much time and effort to creating a wonderful family life
together. You have turned my life around and made me happier than I have
ever been. SO much more to say in private and not on a website! May we
go on singing our way through life together(even if it does seem to be
mainly nursery rhymes these days!) All my love, Becky xxx

Happy Birthday Andy - can this be right?! I always thought we were
contemporaries and suddenly here you are ten years older than me (I
wish).
Congratulations on forty years well lived! You have always been my
inspiration in the way that you pack so much fun and so many adventures
into your life. And here you stand on the cusp of a new chapter with
both work and family. May the next forty years bring many more
adventures, with Becky, Ben and Joshua along for the rides. (I give you
permission to slow down after that).
You have been a great friend, always there with sound advice when I
needed it, and a good laugh the rest of the time. I only wish we were
closer and could catch up more often. (Especially the next time you guys
get stuffed by the All Blacks). Have a WONDERFUL birthday - we will be
thinking of you.
